Inspiring Creativity through Cartooning.
Toonschool is dedicated to the Teaching of Cartooning and Illustration to those who wish to either learn from Scratch, would like to further their own Illustrative Skill, or are interested in one day pursuing a Career in the fast-growing Illustration, Animation and Comic Art Industries.
Creatively speaking ToonSchoolers include all kinds of Creative individuals from those who have always wanted to Draw and grew from Doodling; those who are learning to Draw for Work-related purposes; and -for the most part- those who are self-taught with the compliments of the Internet.
The average ToonSchooler usually displays a Passion for Drawing, but doesn't particularly resonate with Learning how to Draw from a Fine Art Drawing Approach. Their Drawing Style often favours the use of Outlines while they draw their Inspiration from Subject Matter related to Popular Culture. I.e. 2D and 3D Animation, Anime, Gaming, Cartoons, Comic Books, Internet Comics, Graphic Novels, Fantasy Novels, Lego, Superheroes, etc.
At the end of each Year, ToonSchool Certificates for the Commitment to the Development of Artistic Skill are Awarded to those ToonSchoolers who have an Attendance of 50% and more, with "Book Prizes" to those who have Attended more than 80% of the Year’s Online Sessions.
The Creativity Cup, a Virtual ToonSchool Award, is also given each Year to the ToonSchooler who has shown the most Artistic Progress during that Year.
