I usually recommend Creative Journals as these Spiral bound Sketch Books are very Economical as far as the Paper Quality, Quantity and Price are concerned, and -unlike glued Sketch Pads- won’t fall apart when some of the Pages are (inevitably) torn out.
The Cartoon Artist typically uses ANY of the following Materials and Art Supplies:
• Fine Liners, Fibre Tipped Markers, Roller Ball Pens, etc. in different Nib Sizes for Thinner and Heavier Line Work.

• Colouring Tools include Alcohol-based Markers, Coloured Pencils, Fibre Tipped Pens, Watercolour Paint, and any Medium that can Create wondrous Colour.

• As for Digital Mediums, many Laptops, Tablets and Smart Phones now support Drawing, Illustration, Design, and/or Animation Software ideal for Artistic Expression.
Find the Medium that serves both you and your Drawing Style the most, and grow from there.
May the Creative Force be with you!
